Yes POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the overall management of Maniilaq Health Center safety programs through the following:
Assessment of Maniilaq health Services environment for hazardous conditions and practices, evaluation of all programs for current compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, Life/Safety codes, and other safety related requirements; Monitoring and documentation of compliance with safety program requirements; providing a safe environment in the facilities patients, visitors and staff; protection of the assets of Maniilaq Association by undertaking activities to identify, evaluate, and reduce the likelihood of human injury and risk of loss to the organization.
These areas include clinical, business, legal, physical plant, environmental nature, occupational safety and health related, or a combination of the above.
This position reports to the Facility Support Services Director or designee.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Initiates, updates, and evaluates safety program plans and their effectiveness, including:
Internal/External Disaster Plans, Safety Manual/Policies, Employee Orientation Programs, Departmental Safety Policies, Security Plan/Policies/Procedures, Employee Training Programs, and others as needed.
2.
Participates on the Safety Committee to see that the mission of the committee is met and actions are followed through.
Provide technical support for any subcommittees.
3.
Coordinates and participates in comprehensive safety, environmental health, security, and infection control surveys of each area within the organization to determine the degree of compliance with Joint Commission, State, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
4.
Coordinates implementation of the Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals.
5.
Develops and follows schedules for surveys, fire drills, disaster drills, and establishes appropriate reporting formats 6.
Makes recommendations and plans for the improvements as determined by assessments, fire drills, and safety surveys.
Ensures that improvements are implemented as directed by Administration.
7.
Oversees Maniilaq Emergency and Disaster Management.
8.
Liaisons and provides coordination with external agencies as NWAB, KPD, KVFD, OSHA, FEMA, etc.
9.
Develops safety resources for staff that includes a library of videotapes, books, and periodicals.
Maintains a safety bulletin board to keep employees abreast of current safety issues and reports.
Provide new employee safety orientation and annual training.
Travel to village clinics as needed for safety/life safety issues.
10.
Self-evaluates the Joint Commission standards as assigned for compliance.
11.
Prepare reports for administration and the board.
12.
Reviews the safety program annually to determine the effectiveness, objectives, and future planning needs.
13.
Completes FEMA annually or as needed.
14.
On-Call as required for position Job
Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associates or Bachelor's degree in environmental health, safety, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience in a position responsible for hospital safety, or closely related field.
Must have knowledge of the Joint Commission, OSHA, and Life/Safety codes and standards.
Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals, employees, state and federal agencies.
Ability to conduct special studies and investigations, organize the results, and present them orally and in writing.
Ability to prepare instructional materials and present them effectively, utilizing various computer programs.
Ability to climb/bend, and able to conduct visual inspections.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
